POSITION: ASSOCIATE PRODUCT MANAGER

Position Purpose:
 
 This position is responsible for assisting in the marketing activities of a specified product line within the portfolio of products and to coordinate those activities with other employees. The incumbent is also responsible for communicating and developing the resources necessary to support the field based sales force.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily marketing activities for assigned product line(s), including: demand forecasting; defining marketing plans; production of marketing communications materials; maintenance marketing for base products; competitive product comparisons; new product/market assessment; sales training; and ad agency interaction; effective management and utilization of surgeon consultants and key opinion leaders. 
  • Establish effective communications and integrate activities with other departments and organizational partners such as sales agencies.
  • Participate in product development teams.
  • Develop and maintain association with outside organizations and institutions pertinent to the interests and needs of the department and the Company.
  • Outstanding communication skills required for positive interaction with field sales, physicians, internal teams and internal customers. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing (MBA preferred)
·         2-4 years work experience
·         Experience in the healthcare marketing field preferred; medical device marketing experience preferred

POSITION: POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

MedShape Solutions, Inc. is seeking to fill a one-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the area of biomedical device research, development, and marketing starting Fall 2010. Candidate must possess a PhD degree with experience in mechanical testing, materials science, and/or biomedical engineering. Candidate’s primary role will focus on fundamental design-performance relationships of biomedical devices to support the sales and marketing departments. Secondary role will include new device and materials development for next generation products. The position will include opportunities for publication and pursuit of independent funding as well as collaboration opportunities with basic science efforts centered at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Candidates with a strong background in shape memory materials, functional biomaterials, and bone mechanics are strongly encouraged to apply.
